Be My Eyes App - Vision Loss Support

What is this?

This is an app called 'Be My Eyes' which was developed as a way to support people with full or partial vision loss. The app allows it's users to connect with sighted volunteers and companies from all over the world through a live video call.

They have access to over 6 million volunteers and offer assistance in over 180 different languages.

Therefore this app would be suitable for those either looking for support or those looking to volunteer to help others.

How long does it take?

There is a video between 6 to 7 minutes long on the main site which explains the concept behind the app and the app itself will take a few minutes to download and setup.

There is also a community section on the site with stories, podcasts and blogs which vary in length. Some of the longest content pieces are the podcasts which can last up to 2 hours, however they can easiily be paused and resumed at a later time.

Cost?

Downloading and using the app is free. Some of the podcasts may require you to download different software such as iTunes or Spotify but these services offer a free signup process.
