Playlist for Life - Dementia Resources

What is this?

This is a link to the resources page of an organisation called Playlist for Life, founded in 2013 by Writer and Broadcaster Sally Magnusson. The aim of the organisation is to support people with Dementia through the use of music playlists. Music has been shown to elicit positive memories and the resources provided on this link will support PAs working with employers who have Dementia

How long does it take?

Completion time for each person will be different as this is a self-learning environment. It will also depend on how much you wish to learn, including which resources suit the needs of you and the employers you support.

Cost?

Free. All resources hosted on the Playlist for Life website are free to use. Please note however that if you click on links to any external sites such as ‘Spotify’ then it may cost you to sign up to their services.

Instructions:

Click the link below to be redirected to the Playlist for Life resources page. There is a short 2-minute introductory video. Once you have watched the video then scroll down the page and the resources will be listed under 5 different sections. It’s best to start from section 1 by reading the ‘getting started’ leaflet. If you haven’t already then you will need software that can open PDF documents. The most common programme for this is Adobe Acrobat Reader. You can download this software for free if you search it online via Google or any other internet search engine.
